Where have you experienced success in your ministry?

We have so many wonderful stories of God’s grace and power. Here is one: We went to a school of 1200 students where only 12 of them were Christian. There was a group of 10 Christian school teachers in the school, and we trained them for 3 days to do a Gospel Entertainment Evangelism Show for the kids. They performed the show for every class in the school. Within one week, over 800 students gave their hearts to Jesus!

We have trained hundreds of children’s workers and teams in Thailand and Vietnam, and they have reached tens of thousands of children. Many of the stories of individual children are quite moving. Since we began in Children’s MInistry in 2007, over 14,000 kids have received Christ!

We also had a local NGO (World Vision) perform a Drug Free (Prevention) show at the Pattaya youth prison. 400 teens (most arrested for drugs) attended. After the show we had a local church share how accepting and living for Christ will be the most powerful force against the temptation of drugs…225 teens accepted the Lord in the prison! Now the church is discipling them weekly with the full endorsement of the warden!

Where have you experienced success in your ministry?

Christina has always enjoyed working with children. When we first arrived in Thailand, she wanted to work with the slum children ministry that is run by the church. After a few months, her schedule cleared up, allowing her to join the ministry. At that time, the church would go twice a week to a small but local slum community and teach English for free to any child that wanted to come. The children and their families were Buddhist, but the woman that allowed access into the community center was Muslim. Teaching English was a way to enter into the community and build quality relationships with the children and their families.

The ministry had been going for many years when we arrived, but had hit a dry spell. There were about 6-8 children on any week, with about 4-6 of them also coming to church on Sunday. The leader of the ministry had very little time to invest into it and was mostly going through the motions. Christina joined the ministry and brought new excitement for reaching these precious children. Not long after, people in the church got excited to reach these children as well. The ministry has undergone many changes while we have been serving here, but today about 20-30 children come to church every week and the church is trying to start even more programs to reach more of the children in that community and a second community.

Success? Actually, leading others to Christ through relational evangelism, seeing them grow in the Lord and then reaching out to their own people feels like the greatest overall success. Partnering with God and others in the church to do this is really humbling and amazing!

Where have you experienced success in your ministry?

I was asked to entertain some Burmese children at a local Burmese church. The pastors just started an after school program in helping young children with their school work. As I was showing illusions and bringing laughter, I shared the gospel to everyone. I invited all the children to accept Jesus. There were 13 children and four adults who raised their hands to accept Jesus.

I later went on to explain that each one now had the power of God within them to pray for the sick. A woman sitting in the back singled out one of the young girls, Itazein who was 13 years old. The woman told me that this young girl was being tormented by demons. They had taken her to the hospital and the local temple but nothing really worked. She would cry every night and cry at school everyday. Itazein removed her Buddhist Amulet and bracelet as I prayed over her. She was healed and delivered. As she went home, she slept so peaceful. Her family had notice such a dramatic change that her whole family accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!

Where have you experienced success in your ministry?

Neill and Diana Gilbert

Pastor John Srivichai, the Foursquare Thailand president and Foursquare Maesot Pastor, asked us to visit a couple, Nuanjan and her husband Sawang in the village of Lii, which is about 1 1/2 hours from Chiang Mai. Sawang and Nuanjan were interested in starting a church in their village. We were eating with them when Nuanjan mentioned she had only been sprinkled in her baptism and would like to be immersed, as she felt this was the biblical example. We went right after eating and baptized her!

The next day we visited Nuanjan’s mother, who had not walked since accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior about four months prior. Diana sensed that she was believing the lies of Satan instead of in her Lord, Jesus Christ. She told her that nothing is impossible for God and that she can walk! She said if you believe, then you can do it! She got up with some help and then walked around the room. She had believed in Christ her Savior but not Christ as Lord. We rejoiced with her and her family that night as we saw the power of God through faith.
